The best of 2010 is not the furniture that I've refinished or the food that I've posted, but the wonderful friendships that I've made this year. One in particular is with Lori at
Projects Plenty. If you haven't visited her blog then do so soon! She is amazing. I was blog hopping one night and stumbled across her blog from
The Magic Brush blog site (another amazing blog and woman Jennifer!) I commented on her pool table redo because I was so excited to see someone else blog about a pool table and she replied. Come to find out I work with her husband. Seriously! How many times do you blog hop around the globe and end up making a wonderful friendship with someone in your own back yard? This is my first year blogging and I'm still learning. Lori emailed me and told me about two great link up parties, so I am following her to Kim's site over at
Savvy Southern Style and Rhoda's site at
Southern Hospitality. Thanks Lori for always having my back!
This is the
pool table redo. My husband brought home the worlds ugliest pool table ever! But I think I made it beautiful!

I got real lucky when my niece and her husband went to purchase a
poker table that was to scratched up for them, but was just right for me!

I didn't take a good before pic but you can see the ugly color here |

My place of employment sold these
bench chairs for $10.00 each. I bought 4 and this is what I've done with 2 of them so far (the other 2 will be finished this winter)

This is one of two
end tables that I grew up with. I love them because they remind me of my Mother. I will never part with them!

My niece Maria got married this year and I made her
wedding cake. There are post about her shower cake, wedding pillows, & veil too.
I am so glad to have discovered the world of blogging. It gives me the opportunity to express myself and share parts of it with you. Happy New Year my new wonderful friends!
Happy New Year to you too!! Great before & after pics, & the cake looks delicious!

ReplyDeleteNancy,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts. The pool table redo simply fascinates me, how you made something so plain into something so beautiful! What a talent you have to be able to decorate cakes as you do, they are amazing!
I made your cake balls for out Christmas celebration and my family loved them. My grandson's begged me to make more.
Thank you for all your posts. Happy New Year!
